Mindfulness

"Life is a series of phases, each with its challenges, and all too often, if we are not careful, we get drawn into a monotonous routine."

Self-care

Jacky emphasises that we must take care of ourselves. It is also essential to spend time with those we love, "A game of walking golf with my parents is a good way to kill two birds with one stone," he enthused.

Meditation is one method that Jacky practises to enhance his emotional well-being and overall health. “ If you take a glass of muddy water and leave it to sit, the mud settles to the bottom, leaving clean water. We can't meditate our day-to-day stresses away, but if we still ourselves, we might find clarity," shared Jacky.

Consistency

We may know what to do to lead healthy and fulfilling lives. The problem, Jacky stressed, is consistency. Take small steps. He advised, "Start with 5 minutes instead of aiming for a 30-minute meditation session." He added, "Be mindful of small wins. Don't punish yourself."

Jacky also continues to pursue personal development. He is a member of Toastmasters International, the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO), and OE Academy. He enjoys the company of like-minded people where ideas are exchanged and discussed, and he is an active proponent of the cause championed by NGO Qi Yuan.

Never too late

Work hard and play hard. It's never too old to take up hobbies, and Jacky's taking up the drums is a testimony to this. He hopes to start a band, perform, and perhaps, cut albums.
